Building Bridges: Advancing New Approach Methodologies (NAMs) Through Regulatory Innovation
Join our webinar on December 15th, 2026
Join us for the first educational webinar in a series organised in collaboration with Ombion, NXTGEN Hightech Biomed and Oncode Accelerator. In this webinar we will cover the following topic:
Supporting human-relevant models from academic innovation to industry and regulatory adoption.
Human-relevant models have the potential to improve decision-making in preclinical drug development, reduce reliance on animal testing, and help promising therapies reach patients. Challenges around the exact definition of context of use, validation, scalability, commercial implementation and regulatory acceptance often remain unresolved.
This webinar brings together innovation and regulatory perspectives to explore how human-relevant models can move from promising ideas to useful applications in drug development.
We will cover how you can:
- Identify steps in translating a NAM idea into a valuable application for drug development
- Understand when regulatory acceptance is needed
- Recognize what is required to support regulatory acceptance
About Ombion, NXTGEN Hightech Biomed and Oncode Accelerator:
Ombion, NXTGEN Hightech Biomed and Oncode Accelerator are all initiatives funded by the Dutch National Growth Fund (Nationaal Groeifonds) within the thematic cluster Life Sciences and Health. By joining forces, together they contribute to accelerating the development, validation and implementation of human-relevant New Approach Methodologies (NAMs), mainly focused on methods involving (complex) in vitro models. Although each programme has its own mission, target groups and deliverables, we share the ambition to bridge the gap between scientific innovation and implementation. Together, we are organising this webinar series to address common regulatory challenges, share best practices, and accelerate the translation of NAM innovations into real-world impact for patients, researchers, companies and ultimately society.
This project is made possible in part by a contribution from the National Growth Fund programs NXTGEN Hightech, Ombion and Oncode Accelerator.
