As Financial Controller, you will report to the Head of Finance, overseeing the financial management and control of the Oncode Accelerator program. You will be responsible for financial reporting, compliance, budget monitoring, and risk management, ensuring transparency, efficiency, and accountability. This is a highly impactful, hands-on role embedded within a small core team, where your financial leadership will directly support our mission to improve cancer outcomes through innovation.

Key Responsibilities

• financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting processes for the Oncode Accelerator Foundation and the Oncode Accelerator Demonstrator projects.
• Prepare accurate, timely financial reports for internal use and external funders.
• Ensure compliance with national (RVO, NGF) and EU grant requirements.
• Maintain strong financial controls, risk mitigation processes, and audit readiness.
• Monitor multi-year budgets and coordinate with consortium partners on financial matters.
• Liaise with external auditors, grant providers, and legal/finance teams across the consortium together with the Head of Finance.

Candidate Profile

You are reliable financial professional with a strong background in reporting, controlling and compliance. You thrive in a collaborative, multi-stakeholder environment and are comfortable operating both tactical and operationally in a mission-driven setting.

Must-Have Competencies & Experience

• Be able to translate financial data to non-financial stakeholders (excellent reporting skills)
• Degree HBO + in Accounting, Economics, or a related field; RC is a strong plus.
• 5+ years of experience in financial control, preferably in public-private or nonprofit environments.
• Strong knowledge of Dutch and European subsidy regulations and financial compliance.
• Excellent analytical and communication skills; fluent in Dutch and English.
• High integrity, proactive mindset, and a structured working style.

Bonus Points For

• Experience with EU-funded research programs (e.g. EFRO, NWO).
• Affinity with biomedical or health innovation sectors.
• Experience working with or for Medical centers as a project controller is a plus.
• Proficiency with financial systems and project reporting tools (AFAS & PowerBI).
