This webinar brings together two complementary approaches to de-risking early-stage drug development in oncology, with a focus on small molecules.
Jennifer McCormack-Venhorst, PhD, Senior Scientist Integrator at TNO, will open with a presentation on AutoTSA: Faster Target Safety Decisions for Drug Discovery, sharing TNO's AI-driven approach to automating target safety assessments. This approach uses generative AI to extract toxicological information from literature and uses large language model-based “judges” to cross-validate findings, while maintaining human oversight for a high level of trust in the results. Jennifer will make the case for why these assessments belong early in drug development pipelines, especially for smaller biotechs that often skip this step until it's too late.
Anthe Janssen, PhD, Assistant Professor at Leiden University and Co-founder and CSO of Omivera, follows with Target Engagement Profiling Across Complex Biological Systems Using Chemical Proteomics. Anthe will introduce Omivera's proprietary CellEKT platform, which combines cell-permeable molecular probes with chemical proteomics to directly measure how investigational compounds engage with over 90% of the expressed kinome and hundreds of potential non-kinase off-targets simultaneously - all within a physiologically relevant cellular environment. He will address why selectivity profiling needs to move beyond biochemical assays into living-cell systems that better capture the complexity drug developers actually face.
Together, these two talks offer a practical view of how AI-enabled target safety assessments and in-cell target engagement profiling can work in tandem to de-risk and accelerate small molecule discovery programs.
