Advancing translational oncology through collaboration
Backed by the Dutch National Growth Fund (NGF), Oncode Accelerator brings together leading academic institutions, biotech innovators, and industry partners to transform early-stage oncology development. Through its Demonstrator Projects, researchers and drug developers can access shared expertise, platforms, and infrastructure to accelerate and de-risk novel therapeutic approaches.
Targeting difficult-to-treat tumors
The newly launched collaboration, formalized through a Demonstrator Project agreement, will focus on optimizing local delivery of cancer therapeutics directly within tumors. Attivare Therapeutics’ ATTimmune platform, based on mesoporous silica rod biomaterials, enables controlled, sustained release of therapeutic agents into the tumor microenvironment. This platform can combine one or more immune-stimulating or tumor-killing agents, eliciting both local, systemic and memory antitumor immune responses.
Within the Demonstrator Project, Attivare collaborates with MIMETAS, a leader in Organ-on-a-Chip models, and Amsterdam UMC, a key partner in Oncode Accelerator’s Therapeutic Vaccine Workstream. Mimetas’s technology will provide advanced tumor microenvironment models to predict treatment response, while Amsterdam UMC will contribute deep immunology and translational expertise to assess mechanism of action, efficacy, and immune response.
