Too often, promising therapies fail before they reach the clinic. At Oncode Accelerator, we aim to de-risk and accelerate preclinical drug development to change that reality.
We envision a world where cancer patients can access personalised treatment developed by innovative and integrated R&D ecosystems.
To achieve this, Oncode Accelerator has been granted €325 million through the National Growth Fund (Nationaal Groeifonds). With this investment from the Dutch government, we have built and are expanding a translational oncology ecosystem. Our ecosystem includes world-class infrastructure and innovative technology platforms which are accessible to drug developers worldwide.

Efficient and Impactful Cancer Therapy Development
Oncology drug developers worldwide can apply for Demonstrator Projects with Oncode Accelerator. Successful applicants gain access to our oncology innovation platforms and development pipelines, co-developing with our network of experts. Through Demonstrator Projects, we also offer project-based co-funding and support.

€325 Million
In 2022, the Dutch National Growth Fund invested in supporting the initial eight years of our ambitious plan. €161 million was granted in Phase 1 of our program, €123 million in Phase 2, and €41 million as a conditional grant.
35+ Partners
By bringing together top academic researchers and biotechnology and pharma companies, we are creating an integrated cancer research and development ecosystem. Our program is open and continues to grow, and we welcome new partners to work with us.
7 Demonstrator Projects Running
Through Demonstrator Projects, we test and validate the innovated Oncode Accelerator infrastructure while simultaneously aiming to further develop promising oncology therapy leads, to ultimately benefit patients.
2 Spin-Outs
Creation of spinout companies is a concrete indicator of valorization: turning research and knowledge into value for society. Successful spinouts contribute to a stronger biotech ecosystem by creating jobs, attracting talent, and advancing innovations.

ExpediteBio Joins Oncode Accelerator as New Partner in the Biologics Workstream
Today, Oncode Accelerator announced that ExpediteBio, a biotechnology company dedicated to accelerating the development, de-risking the progression, and enabling the early clinical validation of innovative antibody-based therapeutics, has joined its Biologics Workstream as a new partner. Oncode Impact Foundation launched to bridge funding gap and bring oncology innovations to patients faster
The Oncode Impact Foundation, a joint initiative of the Oncode Accelerator Foundation and Oncode Institute, launched today. It uses philanthropy to fund the development of new treatment options for cancer patients through the so-called ‘valley of death’: the crucial phase in which promising scientific breakthroughs often falter and fail to reach patients. -
How Childhood Liver Tumor Cells Acquire Different Features
How cells communicate and develop is controlled by communication pathways. The so called Wnt signaling pathway plays a central role in almost all childhood liver tumors. Researchers from the Princess Máxima Center and Linköping University in Sweden - supported by Oncode Accelerator, Stichting Kinderen Kankervrij (KiKa) and the Princess Máxima Center Foundation (Kus van Kiki) - have now discovered how this pathway can result in tumor cells with different features within a single tumor. Their findings contribute to better classification of these tumors and, in the future, more tailored treatments.
